Grandma Robb's Sugar Cookies

 Prep Time: 45 minutes
 Cook Time: 12-15 minutes
 Servings: 4-5 dozen


Ingredients:


  • 3 or 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup shortening (Crisco)
  • 2 ;cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 heaping tsp. baking powder
  • 1 scant teaspoon soda
  • 3-4 cups flour


Directions:


Cream together shortening, sugar and vanilla and then add eggs. Then add baking powder, soda and flour. Chill dough.

Roll and cut 1/4-1/2" thick. Color sugar with a few drops of food coloring and add a dab to center of each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.


Notes


Grandma was famous for her sugar cookies among her neighbors and grandkids. She made them so often she didn't use a recipe and this is how she passed it on.
