Four-Layer Chocolate Dessert

 Cook Time: 10 minutes
 Servings: 12-15 servings


1st Layer

  • 1 stick oleo, melted
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

2nd Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cool whip

3rd Layer

  • 2 pkg. instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups milk

4th Layer

  • 1 regular tub of cool whip
  • maraschino cherries or nuts, if desired


Mix 1st layer ingredients. Press in bottom of 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until golden brown. Cool. Cream together 2nd layer ingredients and spread over cooled crust. Mix 3rd layer ingredients and pour over 2nd layer. Spread cool whip and top with cherries or nuts, if desired. Chill several hours before serving.


This keeps indefinitely in the freezer. You can use any instant pie filling such as lemon, lime, banana, etc.
