Cherry Pie

Cherry Pie

 Prep Time: 10 minutes
 Cook Time: 35-40 minutes
 Servings: 8 servings


  • Pastry for Two crust pie (I like Pillsbury's refrigerated dough)
  • 1 1/3 C sugar
  • 1/3 C flour
  • 2 cans (16 oz each) pitted red tart cherries, drained
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 2 T margarine or butter


Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare pastry. Mix sugar and flour. Stir in cherries. Turn into pastry-lined pie pate; sprinkle with almond extract and dot with margarine. Cover with top crust that has slits cut in it; seal and flute. Cover edge with 2-3 inch strip of aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning; remove foil durning the last 15 minutes of baking.
